They are interactive and informative programs about topics ranging from money management (saving, spending, and investing) to specific subjects like job and college decisions. To find more about scheduled Teen Money Smart programs, please contact the Chicago Public Library Department of children and Young Adult Services at (312) 747-4780.

Parent Financial Literacy Workshops: Game and activity-based workshops for elementary school, middle school, or high school students and their parents. Social service, extracurricular clubs, and church groups are welcome to request these workshops also. These programs introduce topics like the value of education, comparing careers, investing, credit cards, comparative shopping, and saving for college to students and their parents. To schedule a parent workshop, call (312) 413-3599.

Mentoring Programs: Teen groups--classes, clubs, etc.--and college students discuss life in high school versus college, how to prepare for college, how to manage the college application process, majors, courses, and other subjects via regular email exchanges.
