Associations and Awards for Teachers
Information on the 3M Economic Educator Awards acknowledge teachers of grades
K-12 who allocate the scarce resources of creativity and commitment to the
instruction of economics is available, along with applications for mini-grants
to defray some costs are available
here.
GATE (Global Association of Teachers of Economics) is a national and international membership organization sponsored by the Council for Economic Education exclusively for K-12 teachers and others who are interested in economic and financial education. Membership is free. Register here!
IASET (Illinois Association of School Economics Teachers) has semi-annual Friday conferences with industry experts and guest speakers on various economic topics. Past program topics have included "Economics of Transportation", "Sex, Drugs, and Economics," "Economics and Food", and "International Economics".
